I may blog about this at length later, but here’s a quick note.
I just got home from Paris where I saw the big Marquis de Sade-themed exhibitoon at the Musée d’Orsay. I was hugely impressed, and can certainly recommend a visit.
Using themes of Sade’s writings as a guide, it explores the darker side of human sexuality, the disturbing link between sex and cruelty, and the unlimited human capacity for bizarre sexual fantasies. All illustrated with strange and beautiful artworks by famous and obscure artists.
