I’ve been looking for a vibrator for men for a while. And after reading a favourable review by the lovely and knowledgable Cara Sutra, I settled on the Hot Octopuss Pulse Duo. So I’d like to share my experiences in case you’re a guy – or a couple (more about that later) looking for a similar thing.

 

The Pulse Duo has a cool and elegant design in a flexible, yet firm material. Flexible enough that you can spread the two wings and place even quite a large cock inside it. And firm enough to wrap itself tightly around the shaft when using it.

 

 

 

The vibrations are centered around a small circular area inside the device, near the front. Of course you can slide the device up and down your member for variation, but for me it works most effectively with the vibrating area right underneath the head of my cock. The on/off switch on the left hand side needs to be held down for two seconds to function – ensuring that you don’t accidentally turn the device on – or indeed off. The vibrations take the form of a fast throbbing – much like the effect the ladies get from sex toys aimed at them.

 

The vibrations can be controlled in a number of different ways – which is what makes this toy a lot of fun. First of all, it has nine different speeds, controlled by the plus and minus buttons on the right hand side. To me, the change from one speed to another is almost too subtle to notice – I need a couple of clicks up or down to feel the difference. But if you want to go all in, hold down the plus button and engage the powerful “turbo” mode.

 

 

To further spice up the experience, the Pulse Duo a number of different vibration modes. When you first engage it, you feel the constant buzz. But press the power button again, and you can switch through six discrete rhythms – fast or slow or mixed. This – along with the different speeds – is what makes the Pulse Duo such a versatile toy.

 

The vibrator (or, indeed, “guybrator”) can of course be used in any position – and as it’s waterproof, even in the bath. It’s also light enough to comfortably hold and operate with one hand. But so far, I prefer lying on my back with the Pulse Duo wrapped around my cock, using its weight to press down on my shaft as I work the buttons. 

 

 

This position is also ideal for its added use as a couple’s toy. Your partner can enjoy a separate vibrator placed on the outside of the toy. And this even comes with a cordless remote control, allowing her – or indeed you – to find her preferred level of stimulation independently of yours. It should be said the the outside vibrator is quite a lot simpler – only straight three-speed vibration. But that’s a minor quibble: Even having this dual function – and remote controlled, at that – is a very clever and creative feature.

 

All in all, I’m fully satisfied with the device. It works well for swiftly getting an erection, maintaining it for a long masturbation session, and finally bringing you to ejaculate. In fact, it’s so effective that I often have to shut it down to avoid coming. And once you master that technique, it’s a great toy for edging.

In summing up, the Pulse Duo seems tailormade to enhance male pleasure. If (like me) you get this as your first male sex toy, you can look forward to hours of sexy fun. And the couples feature quite simply puts it in a league of its own.
